About Rachel Byrd, M.D.
Dr. Rachel Byrd grew up in northern California. She completed her dermatology residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, serving as chief resident in her final year. Prior to residency, Dr. Byrd graduated as valedictorian from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. Most recently, Dr. Byrd worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Byrd specializes in medical dermatology with an interest in adult and pediatric dermatology as well as procedural dermatology including cutaneous surgery and cosmetic dermatology (Botox®, fillers, etc.). Dermatology is more of a passion than a profession for Dr. Byrd. She finds satisfaction in having continuity of care with her patients and treating a wide range of skin conditions. She has published in several dermatology journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and Clinical and Experimental Dermatology.
Dr. Byrd’s husband, Will Byrd, is an orthopaedic surgeon in the area. They enjoy spending time with their two children as well as traveling, hiking and outdoor activities with their goldendoodle, Ellie.
