As the leaves begin to change and cozy vibes take over, it’s not just the season for pumpkin spice lattes and layers—it’s also cosmetic procedure season! We administer aesthetic treatments such as Hydrafacials, dermaplaning, chemical peels, microneedling/RF microneedling, Ultherapy and CoolSculpting all year round. However, particular results-driven procedures such as intense pulsed light (IPL) and some laser devices are best administered for safety and efficacy during the fall and winter months.
Pariser Dermatology Specialists offers a variety of treatments and procedures to enhance your youthful glow. One of the most effective tools we use is the Candela Nordlys System. This exceptional system is a multi-platform device that utilizes a variety of handpieces to deliver both light and laser therapy to:
- Rejuvenate your skin
- Reduce fine lines and wrinkles
- Smooth acne scarring
- Reduce redness and unsightly veins
How the Nordlys System Works
The Nordlys is an elite device setting it apart from other aesthetic devices in the industry. Its four advanced technologies help patients look and feel their best. These technologies include the Selective Waveband Technology IPL (Intense Pulse Light) that uses an exclusive technology to target problem areas with narrow wavelengths of light. It provides less heat application to the skin and yields safer treatments and more desired results. Research shows that 50% less energy is released from this technology vs. the traditional BBL (Broad Band Light) making the treatment less painful and safer. Less treatments are necessary in order to obtain results compared to broadband IPL technology as well.
This technology addresses rosacea, brown and red pigmentation from sun damage, broken blood vessels, acne, poikiloderma of civatte, and port wine stains. This IPL is safe for usage on skin types 1-4. In celebrity terminology, that means for complexions that resemble Nicole Kidman to Jennifer Lopez.
Additional technology includes the 1550 and 1940, two non-ablative laser resurfacing handpieces. These applicators deliver very small, controlled bursts of energy to resurface the skin. Treatments are customizable to address specific needs such as fine lines, large pores, rough texture, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. The treatments can be performed alone or in combination with the IPL handpieces for the popular “Light & Bright” procedure. This combination therapy treatment addresses both pigmentation and textural irregularities. It can simultaneously treat aging skin while reducing acne scarring. The Nordlys handpieces are safe for skin types 1-5, which in celebrity terminology equates to Nicole Kidman to Angela Bassett’s skin complexions.
Lastly, the Nordlys utilizes an additional handpiece called the 1064nm ND YAG laser. This versatile laser addresses vascular conditions such as broken blood vessels, leg veins, cherry angiomas and port wine stains, just to name a few. It features a built-in Soft Cool technology that delivers a stream of cool air for greater comfort during treatment. The 1064nm ND YAG laser for vascular conditions is also safe to be utilized on skin types 1-5.
The Nordlys is an FDA-cleared award-winning device that yields great visible results to address the cosmetic desires of our patients. Whether you are getting ready for your upcoming holiday events, weddings, class reunions or you just want to restore your youthful glow, the Nordlys will help you accomplish your goals.
