Always Remember: SPF is your BFF!
Even on cloudy days, begin each morning with a fresh layer of your favorite broad spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher. For best protection while outside, reapply sunscreen every two hours and after swimming, sweating and/or toweling off. There’s really no such thing as “waterproof” sunscreen. Because sweat and water wash sunscreen from our skin, the FDA no longer allows manufacturers to claim that a sunscreen is waterproof. Some sunscreens are water resistant which means they will stay effective for 40 minutes in the water. After that, you need to reapply. Learn more from The American Academy of Dermatology here.
