Job description:
• Prepare rooms and trays
• Greet patients and accompany them to the examination room
• Triage patients to include documenting medical history information, medication list, allergies and reason for visit
• Assist the physician with treatment and procedures
• Provide patient with any required information such as post procedure and wound care instructions
• Initiating or returning calls to patients as needed
• Cleaning and restocking examination rooms
Job requirements:
• Previous experience in dermatology a plus
• Previous experience as a medical assistant is required
• Knowledge of medical terminology is required
• Excellent interpersonal skills; friendly and engaging self-starter that works well in high pressure situations
• Ability to problem solve in a strong, confident manner
• Experience with electronic medical record systems is required

Surgery Assistant/Scribe – (Suffolk/Williamsburg)
Are you looking for a rewarding career in a fast paced environment? We are currently hiring a Surgery Assistant/Scrobe to join our team in our Moh’s surgery department. Candidates must be willing and able to travel and work in our Suffolk and Williamsburg offices every week on a set schedule. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to build a strong rapport with providers and patients.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare rooms and surgery trays for the physician
- Triage patients to include medical history
- Prepare patients for surgery
- Assist physician with surgeries
- Administer lidocaine in preparation for surgery
- Provide post-operative care, including dressing changes and post-operative instructions
- Suture removal
- Cleaning instruments and understanding of sterile technique
- Entering the room with the physician during patient visit to capture and transcribe medical record documentation utilizing EHR and other practice software
- Perform other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned
- Regular and reliable attendance at assigned facility required
- Preparing and sending all documentation to physician for review and approval via authentication of detailed data entry and facility-specific procedures
- Entering and documenting all referrals, orders and prescriptions as directed by provider to ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient’s visit
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to travel and work in our Suffolk and Williamsburg offices
- Prior experience as a surgery assistant is preferable
- Prior experience as a medical assistant is required
- Typing 60 WPM or more
- Excellent interpersonal skills; friendly and engaging self-starter that works well in high pressure situations
- Ability to problem solve in a strong, confident manner
- Experience with electronic medical record systems is preferable
- Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
