May Is Skin Cancer Awareness Month

Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the United States. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from exposure to the sun, tanning beds or sunlamps is the main cause of skin cancer. The most dangerous kind of skin cancer is called melanoma. The good news is that skin cancer is very treatable IF it is detected in the early stages.

Now is the time to make a personal commitment to protect yourself and your loved ones from this deadly disease. You can also help spread awareness throughout your community to help reduce the occurrence of melanoma, or detect it early and when it is most treatable. Here are some of the ways that you can help prevent skin cancer:
