Things to know before a Cosmetic Filler Procedure

BLT “Numbing Cream”

Prior to your cosmetic appointment/procedure, your provider will send a prescription to Coastal Pharmacy. One week before your cosmetic appointment, you will need to call and provide payment in the amount of $20.00 @ 757-800-1601 and verify any pertinent information, including the office in which the procedure will be performed. Once this process is complete, Costal Pharmacy will deliver the medication to the given office.

If this process is incomplete, the office has the right to reschedule your appointment. Although this is not what we would choose to do, we want you to be comfortable during your procedure.

Numbing cream needs to be applied at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. We ask that you arrive early enough to allow the  the numbing cream to take effect.

Bruising

Certain cosmetic procedures can cause bruising. If you bruise easily, we recommend you plan accordingly for any social or important events. In most cases bruising will dissipate within 5-10 days post procedure. Pariser Dermatology does sell a product, “Inhance” to help speed recovery.

We also recommend for those who bruise easily, to discontinue certain medications prior to treatment.

If the following medications are for medical reasons, please DO NOT DISCONTINUE.

Avoid drinking alcohol 2-3 days prior to treatment and 24 hours after

Eating fresh pineapple 2-3 times daily for 1-2 days, pretreatment, may help to reduce bruising

If you need to take anything for pain, take Tylenol (acetaminophen)

Dental Work, Vaccinations, Colds, Flu, Virus and Infections

Please avoid ANY dental work 2 weeks prior to treatment.

If you have experienced cold/flu, or sinus infections 2 weeks prior to treatment, please contact our office to reschedule.

Certain treatments can cause a flare up of viruses (cold sores). Contact the office 2 weeks prior to treatment if a prophylactic (ie: Valtrex) needs to be prescribed.
