Hair Loss

Androgenic Alopecia, also known as male or female pattern baldness, is the most common cause of hair loss and affects both men and women. It is caused by a combination of genetic, hormonal, and environmental factors, leading to the gradual miniaturization of hair follicles and eventually resulting in hair loss.

Keratosis Pilaris or “Chicken Skin”

Keratosis Pilaris, often referred to as “chicken skin,” appears as small, rough bumps, typically on the arms, thighs, buttocks, and sometimes on the face. This condition occurs when keratin, a protein that protects the skin, clogs hair follicles, leading to the formation of these unsightly bumps.

Hyperkeratosis

Hyperkeratosis occurs when there is an abnormal buildup of keratin, the tough protein that protects the skin. This excessive keratin production leads to the formation of thickened areas, often appearing on the elbows, knees, heels, and other areas subjected to friction and pressure.

Acne

Milia occur when dead skin cells become trapped in small pockets on the skin’s surface, forming small, hard cysts. These cysts can be challenging to treat, but with the right products and care, you can effectively manage them and prevent future occurrences.

Isotretinoin is a common medication for the treatment of acne but it does have some side effects. Most prevalent are dry skin, eyes, nose and lips. Below are some products, recommended by Dr. Buehler to help with those side effects.

Warts

Warts are small, benign growths that can appear on various parts of the body, including the hands, feet, face, and genital area. They can be stubborn and challenging to treat, but with the right products and care, you can effectively manage and eliminate them.

Notalgia Paresthetica

Notalgia Paresthetica is characterized by chronic itching and tingling in the upper back, typically between the shoulder blades. This condition is often caused by nerve impingement or irritation, leading to persistent discomfort that can greatly impact daily life.

Excessive Sweating

Hyperhidrosis can affect various parts of the body, leading to excessive sweating in the armpits, hands, feet, face, and other areas. This condition can be both physically uncomfortable and emotionally distressing, affecting social interactions and self-esteem.

Brittle Nails

Onychorrhexis can manifest as nail brittleness, horizontal or longitudinal ridges, and frequent nail splitting or breaking. This condition can be caused by various factors, such as frequent exposure to water, harsh chemicals, nutritional deficiencies, or underlying health issues.

Picking or Neurotic Excoriations

Picking or Neurotic Excoriations, also known as Dermatillomania or Excoriation Disorder, can lead to skin injuries, infections, and emotional distress. This condition is often triggered by stress, anxiety, or obsessive-compulsive tendencies.

Intertrigo

Intertrigo typically affects areas such as the groin, underarms, under the breasts, and skin folds. The combination of moisture, heat, and friction in these regions creates an ideal environment for inflammation, redness, and sometimes even secondary infections.

Scars

Scars can result from various factors, such as injuries, surgeries, acne, or other skin conditions. They can be challenging to manage, but with the right products and care, you can significantly improve their appearance.
